Unlike most of my work, this is a totally unretouched photo. I loved the way the morning sun shone through the bay window on the right. The starburst inside the silhouette of a funnel-shaped vent on an adjoining roof was pure serendipity.

Unlike most of my work, this is a totally unretouched photo. I loved the way the morning sun shone through the bay window on the right. The starburst inside the silhouette of a funnel-shaped vent on an adjoining roof was pure serendipity.
Morning Practice
Rowing into the sunrise, 6:30 AM February 28, 2008. The curvy background is a shot of sand at Ocean Beach. I've been working with textured backgrounds for several years now and really like the extra depth they bring to a picture.
